Hello October - the gateway to cooler days, pumpkin flavored treats, and total justified excitement and anticipation about Halloween. Halloween is a lot of people’s favorite holiday, and what’s not to love? As children, Halloween means fun costumes and all the candy you can eat. As adults, Halloween is seen as an opportunity to really let go of inhibitions and indulge in your fantasies through creative party themes and costumes. Since the stage is already set by you and your partner donning costumes for the holiday, Halloween is also a great opportunity to try out a little post-party role playing in the bedroom. Whether you’ve only been with your partner a few months or have several years of marriage under your belt, role playing is a safe and fantastic way to add a little spice to your sex life.

Role Play 101:Role playing is meant to fulfill you and your partners’ wildest sexual fantasies in a fun and respectful way, so as with any new sexual adventure, both partners need to be committed and on board, with the ability to stop the action at any time. Unless role play is a regular part of your routine, it’s best to take a little time to plan beforehand. Discuss your fantasies with your partner, and in turn listen to theirs. Pick a scenario that’s appealing to both of you, define any limits, and then turn yourselves loose! Let go of your everyday self and really become your character to experience a whole new level of sexual exploration with your partner.

Having difficulty coming up with a sexy scenario to propose? We’ve listed a few classic ideas below to spark your interest.

Professor/Student:So let’s be honest: just about every woman has dressed up as a ‘naughty school girl’ at one point, and just about every woman has fantasized about a teacher or professor they’ve had while at school. What’s more, just about every guy looks dead sexy in a white button down with rolled up sleeves and a tie. Throw in some glasses, maybe a vest, and briefcase and you’ve got the makings of a really good porno. Or, the makings of your fantastic evening of student/teacher role play fun. Repeat after us: “What kind of extra credit, professor?”

Superheroes/Villains: Because sometimes being bad feels so good, really play it up by dressing up as your favorite superhero or villain. The ever-popular cat woman look will never go out of style, and will always be sexy as hell. (Bonus for your partner: getting to try out his best deep-and-sexy Batman voice.) Superhero costumes are available in abundance and are usually modest enough for most parties. This is an especially good option for fans of cosplay.

50 Shades of Grey: Especially popular with the upcoming movie release, role playing with bondage adds another layer of fun and complexity. In most couples, one will tend to want to dominate and the other will prefer to be dominated, so give in to those pre-existing tendencies and go for it! Be open to switching roles to heighten the experience. Just be sure to clarify boundaries with your partner for this one.

Masquerade/Strangers: Masquerade is a common theme for Halloween parties, and perfect for a little role playing. It can be exhilarating to pretend that you and your partner are meeting for the first time at a party, and neither is aware of the other’s identity. If agreed on by both partners, a little anonymous flirting with other partygoers before “meeting” your partner can add to the excitement and recreate that ‘thrill of the chase’ feeling. Once home, either savor the identity reveal, or leave the masks on to further the effect. Keep in mind that this doesn’t have to be a masquerade party – you and your partner can arrive separately to a bar or large party in any costume you choose and still play at being strangers.

These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to role playing ideas – let your creativity flow! We hope you’ll get into the spirit this Halloween, let down your inhibitions, and try a little sexy role playing with your partner. If you’re an old hat at role playing fantasies, let us know!
